Box Score HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- The Marymount University women's volleyball team dominated Centenary University on Friday evening en route to a 3-0 sweep of the Cyclones.
The Saints were nearly unstoppable against their Atlantic East foe, as they won 25-7, 25-5, 25-9 in straight-sets. MU was extremely tidy at the net with a .327 attack percentage, while Centenary swung at a paltry -.113 clip.
On top of the Blue and White's balanced attack, they tossed up a whopping 25 service aces. The mark set a season-high and is the most in program history dating back to 2010. Sarah Pham was the main culprit at the service line with seven aces. Caylee Shelton and Natalie Bialecki each added five aces apiece. MU's barrage from the service line kept Centenary from getting a foothold into the contest.
Elissa Munsterman and Sophie Meredith paced the team with five kills each. Munsterman swung at a stellar .625 clip, while Meredith hit .444. Rookie Ryleigh Ward added three kills, while Bialecki led the team with 15 assists. On the defensive side of the ball, Pham tallied a match-high seven digs.
Marymount is back in action on Saturday, October 16, when it heads to Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania for a tri-match at Gwynedd Mercy University. The Saints square-off against the Griffins at 2:00 p.m. and Haverford College at 4:00 p.m.
