RADNOR, Pa. – The Marymount University women's soccer team saw its season come to a close on Saturday afternoon, falling to Cabrini University in the first round of the Atlantic East tournament.

The teams played to a 0-0 tie in the first half, as sophomore goalkeeper Maia Pappadakis made five saves to keep Cabrini off the board.

Just before the half, senior Gabby Cabrales took her shot at goal, but her attempt went just wide.

The Cavaliers struck at the start of the second half in the 48th minute, before adding their second just under five minutes later.

Despite the deficit, Pappadakis continued to get in front of Cabrini's shots, as the Saints battled to get back in the game. She made five saves over the next several minutes, finishing with seven in the half and 12 in the game.

Marymount made a late push and put pressure on Cabrini's defense with four shots in quick succession. Senior Gretel Bonilla and freshman Laney Placido, each, put shots on frame, forcing Ashley Tutzauer to make the saves. Placido had another shot blocked in the sequence.

The Saints were awarded two late corner kicks, but both shot attempts that the corners produced were blocked, as well, as Cabrini held on for the win.

Pappadakis played all 90 minutes in net for Marymount, producing her third-highest save total of the season.
