WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Marymount University women's soccer team broke out in an 8-2 victory on Wednesday night at Gallaudet University.

The Saints got going in the 13th minute, capitalizing on their first corner kick of the game. Freshman Laney Placido sent the kick into the box, where sophomore Mia Londregan was there to take the 1-0 lead.

Over the next 16 minutes, Marymount would find the back of the net four more times, taking a 5-0 lead by the 28:35 mark.

Senior Karen Reyes scored the next two goals in the 17th and 20th minutes. Classmate Gabby Cabrales sent a pass down the field for Reyes to chase down for the score, before Reyes took a rip from 20-yards out to grab the 3-0 edge.

Junior Sita Nair would close out the half with three-straight scores, all coming from senior Gretel Bonilla, to give Marymount a 6-0 advantage by halftime.

The hat trick marks the first of Nair's career, as Bonilla also set a career high in assists.

At halftime, the Saints held a 20-2 lead in shots, while taking three corner kicks to the Bison's zero.

Just over a minute into the second half, Gallaudet found its first goal, as both teams found the back of the net twice in the half.

The Saints saw the first-career scores for freshman Zeline Geiling and Placido.

Sophomore Maia Pappadakis earned the win in the game, making three saves in 90 minutes of play.

Nair led the way with six points, while Reyes tallied four. Placido and Bonilla, each, added three points in the win.

The Saints will return home to Long Bridge Park on Saturday, October 5 to host William Peace University, with the opening touch set for 3:30 p.m.
