ARLINGTON, Va. - The University of Mary Washington Eagles traveled North to face off against the Marymount University women's soccer team in a non-conference match on Friday night. As the Saints brought the heat from first touch, so did the Eagles, earning the 4-0 road win.

The visiting Eagles out shot the Saints 12-2 in the first half, but the number of shots did not recognize the hard work the Saints put in on the field. 

Brooke Bauman had two early corner kicks for the Eagles that could have put UMW ahead on the scoreboard within the first 10 minutes, but junior Gabby Cabrales got to the ball first on both corners and relieved the defense of the corner threat. Sophomore Sita Nair followed in Cabrales' footsteps, as she made an outstanding clear off another Eagles' corner.

Freshman Mia Londregan had a solid game on the backline. Although not showing up on the stat sheet, Londregan prevented four Eagle through balls, and recorded six clears.

Freshman goalkeeper Madison Foltz made her first career start as a net minder for the Saints. Despite the final score, Foltz won some key 1-on-1 match ups, and recorded a season high for the Saints, notching herself 10 saves. 

The Saints take the pitch again on Wednesday, September 26, as they host the Crusaders of Christendom College. First touch is set for 7 p.m., at Long Bridge Park.
