ASTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Marymount University men's soccer team played in its first-ever Atlantic East Conference game on Wednesday night, falling to Neumann University, 2-0.

The Saints put their first shot of the game on goal in the 23rd minute in an early offensive effort, however Neumann goalkeeper Shane Smith was able to make the stop.

Less than two minutes later, the Knights netted the opening score, taking a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. They would take the advantage into the half.

The teams battled through the second half, with neither able to find the goal through the first 35 minutes. It was in the 82nd minute that Neumann added its second score for the 2-0 lead.

Jonathan Josue Cruz played 90 minutes in goal for the Saints, making five saves in the game.

Marymount will travel to Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday, October 6 in an Atlantic East matchup; the match is set for 1 p.m.
