ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University women's soccer team faced off against Gallaudet University for a non-conference matchup on Monday evening at Long Bridge Park, taking home the 4-1 decision.

Both sides were aggressive in the first half. The Saints outshot the Bison 8-5. This early aggression lead to two goals for the Saints, and one for the Bison.

Junior Karen Reyes got things going for the Saints early in the 11th minute. Reyes received a through ball, from senior Madison Grehawick that gave her a one-on-one opportunity with the Bison net minder. Reyes dragged the ball back, making the goal keeper dive in the wrong direction, giving her an open shot on goal for a Marymount lead, 1-0.

Still seeking another goal, senior Caroline Phillips notched her second of the year. An assist by junior Gretel Bonilla found Phillips for a wide open goal.

After halftime, the Saints knocked in two more goals before the end of the game. Grehawick was in the right spot at the right time, to put away a clean up goal inside the six-yard box. The second goal of the half came from 32 yards out, off the foot of junior Mary Catherine Treuting.

Marymount used all three of their goal keepers to hold off the Bison. Senior Sydney Sherman made her ninth start of the season, and recorded her second win. Freshman Madison Foltz came into the game midway through the first half. She lead the Saints in saves, with three on the night. Senior Sydney Schultz was subbed in just minutes into the second half. Combined, the Marymount goalkeepers made five saves.

The Saints hit the road for their next contest, traveling to Cabrini University on Wednesday, October 17; the match is set for 4 p.m.
