MEDFORD, Mass. - After starting the season with four wins in its first five matches, the Marymount women's volleyball team wrapped up the last of its eight-match road trip to open the 2017 season on Saturday with losses to Bowdoin and No. 23 Tufts at Cousens Gymnasium on the campus of Tufts University.

The Saints (4-4) dropped both matches in straight sets, falling to Bowdoin 25-15, 25-11, 25-21 before losing to host Tufts, 25-18, 26-24, 25-13.

Marymount was plaqued by attack errors in both contests, totaling 45 compared to just 57 kills for a .050 hitting percentage. During its three-match losing streak, the Saints have totaled 68 attack errors and a .032 hitting percentage while their opponents have combined for 37 total blocks.

On Saturday, Bowdoin had 17 total blocks. Junior Emily Abramaitys had a team-high 10 kills while junior Caroline Hanson added seven. For Abramaitys, she has had at least 10 kills in four of her last six matches.

Hanson added eight digs while freshman Maggie Viniard totaled a career-high 15 digs to go along with 19 assists while freshman Jasmine Roy had 13 digs, just one shy of her career high. Sophomore Theresa Buscemi also had 13 digs.

Abramaitys had a team-high eight kills against Tufts as she finished the day with 18 kills and a .228 hitting percentage. Hanson totaled six kills and 10 digs, but had 11 attack errors.

Viniard had 12 digs, three service aces and a career-high 22 assists against the Jumbos (3-1) while junior Celine Nguyen had eight digs.

Marymount will make its home debut on Wednesday, September 13 when it welcomes Stevenson to Verizon Sports Arena for a 7:00 p.m., contest. The Mustangs were receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Coaches Poll on September 5.
