ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount men's soccer sophomore John Valcicak posted the first double-digit save performance of his career, but Randolph-Macon scored two second-half goals in the first two minutes and the last two minutes to post a 2-0 non-conference victory on a rainy Wednesday night at Long Bridge Park.

The Saints (0-2) and Yellow Jackets (3-0) combined for 29 fouls, five yellow cards, and one red in what played out to be a physical, competitive matchup between the two squads.

Valcicak made a career-high 10 saves, including six in the second half as Marymount was outshot, 13-5.

After a scoreless first half, Randolph-Macon's Bryan Lutz opened the scoring in the 47th minute with his second goal of the season on a free kick from 35 yards out that was assisted by Paul Duffy. Lutz, the Yellow Jackets' leading goal scorer in each of the last two seasons, picked up the sixth game-winning goal of his career and his second this season.

The goal touched off a 30-minute stretch in which the two teams combined for four yellow cards, one red and five fouls.

Lutz would add an insurance goal in the 89th minute on another free kick, this time assisted by Jacob McHugh. All three goals allowed by the Saints this season have come off of free kicks.

Wednesday also marked the second-straight game that Marymount has been without the services of two-time All-CAC first team selection, junior Rodney Ngoh, on defense.

The Saints return to action on Friday when they travel to Fayetteville, N.C., to take on Methodist in the team's first-ever night game at Monarch Soccerplex beginning at 7 p.m.
