SALISBURY, Md. – The Marymount women's soccer team headed on the road on Wednesday afternoon for another Capital Athletic Conference matchup at Salisbury University, dropping a 5-0 decision. 

The Sea Gulls jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the opening 10 minutes, end made it 3-0 by the 19th minute until the Saints strapped down on the defensive end. 

Freshman Emma Buck got the shots started for Marymount in the 26th minute, but Salisbury keeper Hope Knussman pulled in her lone save of the match to keep the Saints off the scoreboard. 

In the final 10 minutes of the first half, the Sea Gulls added their fourth before sophomore Karen Reyes had a go at goal, but her shot flew wide. 

Junior keeper Sydney Sherman picked up two saves to start up the second half, but Salisbury found the back of the net for the final time in the 53rd minute to set the eventual final score of 5-0. 

Sherman made five more saves to keep the Sea Gulls from extending their lead through the rest of the match, while sophomore Courtney Stephens got off the final shot for the Saints. 

Through 90 minutes of play, Sherman collected eight saves. 

The Saints will head home for their next match, hosting Frostburg State University on Saturday, October 14 for Senior Day. Prior to the match, Marymount will honor the career of senior Carolyn Lilly. First touch is scheduled for 5 p.m., at Long Bridge Park.
