Box Score FREDERICK, Md.—The Marymount (Va.) University women's soccer team downed Hood College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, improving to 4-2 this season.

MU continued to press on offense, outshooting the Blazers, 14-4, in the first half. The Saints remained strong on the defensive end as well, allowing just one shot on goal from the Blazers. Senior goalkeeper April Westmark was able to stop Hood's lone shot attempt in the opening 45 minutes.
Marymount remained on top, 1-0, through majority of play. Senior Chloe McAuliffe connected with freshman Karen Reyes with just under six minutes remaining on the clock, and took a 2-0 lead.
The duo McAuliffe and Reyes found each other four minutes later to put the third and final goal in for the game. McAuliffe sent the ball from the far right side and Reyes tracked it down to finish the job, sending the ball into the left side of the goal.
The blue and white saw more action on the defensive end in the second half. The Blazers were able to get five shots on goal, but junior goalkeeper Sydney Schultz saved all five attempts.
The women will return home for a matchup against Notre Dame (Md.) on Wednesday, September 21 at Long Bridge Park. First touch is set for 5 p.m.
