Arlington, Va. – The Marymount men's basketball squad seemed quite stumped by visiting Salisbury on Wednesday night, as the Seagulls marched past the Saints and onto a 71-63 decision.  Marymount slips to 18-6 on the season and 12-5 in CAC action with the loss.

Four different Saints breached double-figures in the effort, with JC Hoellich notching his team-leading ninth double-double of the season.  Hoellich chipped in 14 points and 13 rebounds, while fellow senior Antonio Rouse netted a game-high 22 points on the night.  Freshman D'Ondre Stockman and junior Colin Burkhart added 11 and ten points, respectively.

The difference came beyond the arc, with the Seagulls hitting nine threes on the nights compared to the Saints' pair.

From the get-go, Salisbury seemed to have Marymount confounded. The visitors used a 19-2 run to secure a 16-point advantage, 21-5, by the 11:59 mark.  Two Saints' free throws offered some reprieve, but the Seagulls did not allow Marymount into double-digits until 10:14 shown on the clock.

Another Salisbury rally, this time an 8-2 burst, saw the visitors take a 20-point lead, 37-17, with 6:53 left to play in the half.

The Saints collected the next six points, unanswered, cutting the margin to 13 points, 37-24, with 5:03 on the clock.  The Saints' scoring subsided over the final five-minute stretch, as the Seagulls closed the half with a 10-2 run and a 47-26 lead.

The second half saw the visitors retake a 20-point lead, 51-31, with just about four minutes gone.  It was a layup from Tim Brisco at the 12:31 mark that sparked the rally Marymount needed to fight back.

The Saints strung together a 12-2 run to surge within 11 points, 56-45, with just under ten minutes to play.

Marymount worked its way back within single-digits in the closing five minutes, using a Stockman tip-in to pull within six, 61-54, with just 2:29 on the clock.

The Seagulls landed ten shots from the charity stripe to close the deal, 71-63, despite the late comeback effort from the Saints.

The Saints square off with Frostburg State on Saturday in their final contest of the regular season.  Tip time is slated for 3 p.m. in Frostburg, Md.
