Box Score St. Mary's City, Md. – The Marymount women's basketball team took down St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon, securing the road win, 70-60, as five different Saints scored in double-figures.
Marymount improves to 12-5 on the season and 8-2 in league play with the win.
Kievanna Lacey continued her streak as the squad's leading-scorer, registering a game-high 21 points in the CAC victory. Nicole Viscuso added 13 points, while Miranda Krott chipped in 12. Leah Hurst and Dominique Dickens each contributed 11 tallies on the day.
The difference came on the boards, with the Saints notably out-rebounding the Seahawks 46-27. Krott and Lacey seemed most sprightly under the hoop, snatching eight rebounds apiece.
The Saints worked hard to build a comfortable 32-23 lead by the break, courtesy of 13-3 run to close the half.
The second half proved quite the shot-for-shot affair, with the Seahawks stepping up to compete a bit more readily. Even with the to-and-fro unfolding, the Saints were able to maintain their gaping first-half margin, never allowing the host within seven.
Marymount returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts Wesley in a midweek CAC rendezvous. Tip time is set for 6 p.m.
