Box Score Winchester, Va. – Despite facing an initial 0-7 deficit in that first set, the Saints battled back to eventually trump the host Hornets in shutout fashion (28-26, 25-19, 25-21) to improve to an outstanding 15-2 on the season.
The Blue and White rallied from behind in the opening set, eventually matching the Shenandoah lead and surpassing it, battling point for point from the 15-15 mark onward.
Marymount proved fearless at the net as sophomore Cailyn Thomas collected nine blocks to lead the Saints charge. Classmate Hannah Steger hit a remarkable .625 on the night, collecting ten kills in 16 attempts without recording a single error.
The senior class also proved critical in the Saints swift win as Erin Allison notched three aces to Cassadie Watson's 16 digs.
Marymount returns to action on Friday when it travels to Gallaudet for the Peg Worthington Classic. First match is slated for 2 p.m. against Messiah. The Saints take on #1 Hope in their nightcap.
