Box Score 2 Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's volleyball team swept a pair of home contests on Saturday, downing Washington (Md.) 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-19) before tackling Lycoming 3-0 (25-19,25-15, 25-12) in the nightcap. The Saints improve to 14-2 on the season with the pair of decisive wins.
The Blue and White proved an insurmountable force in its first home tri-match of the year, downing each challenger without dropping a single set.
Rebecca Bateman aided the Saints offense with a grand total of 31 assists, setting up Emileigh Rettig and Morgan McAlpin for their 17 kills apiece in the day's work.
Christy Tieman also poured in 19 assists, while Rettig collected 14 digs between the two matches.
McAlpin proved the Saints most effective netminder over the course of the afternoon, collecting four solo blocks and assisting an additional four.
Marymount returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Shenandoah for a nonconference bout. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
