Fredericksburg, Va. – Marymount University's men's soccer team opened the 2013 season with a 3-1 loss against Eastern Mennonite at the UMW Tournament on Friday night. With the defeat, the Saints drop their first season opener since 2009.

Franklin Garcia posted the lone goal for the Saints in the 51st minute of action. His score cut a Marymount deficit to just 2-1 before the Royals added another goal 10 minutes later to close out the scoring.

Kurt Michaels (0-1-0) hauled in four saves for the Saints in the loss.

Marymount returns to action on Saturday as it faces to face Randolph to close out the UMW Tournament.
