Tom Doherty

Tom Doherty is in his first year as the head women's volleyball coach for the Saints.

Doherty came to Marymount after being the assistant coach at Bridgewater College since 2021, handling many of the day-to-day responsibilities for the program as well as spearheading recruiting efforts. 

During his time with the Eagles, the squad went 76-38 and had 13 All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference selections. 

Prior to his time at Bridgewater, he was a Graduate Assistant Coach at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., where he was a significant part in the practice planning and implementation, alongside recruiting and scouting efforts. 

Before Springfield College, Doherty was an assistant coach for Hope College from 2016-18. During that time, Hope made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2016 and 2018. 

Before being named Assistant Coach, he was a Student Assistant Coach from Spring 2012 to 2016. Hope won the NCAA Division III Championship in 2014 with Doherty on the staff. 

Overall, Doherty was on the Hope College coaching staff during six NCAA Tournament runs and played a key role in leading the team to the MIAA Women's Volleyball Championship title in 2016.
