Samuel Winter enters the 2026 – 27 season as the Marymount University Men’s and Women’s Tennis Graduate Assistant (GA). Having gained valuable coaching experience, Sam is excited to share his knowledge with the Marymount tennis teams.
Sam is originally from United Kingdom. In high school, Sam was named a member of the Honor Roll and National Honor Society. He graduated valedictorian of his senior class.
Sam began his tennis career in the United States playing for the Spartans at Saddlebrook Preparatory Tennis Academy in Wesley Chapel, FL. He also became an International Tennis Federation (ITF) doubles semifinalist in the Dominican Republic.
Sam began his collegiate career at NCAA Division II Coker University in Hartsville, South Carolina. While at Coker he was named a second team All-Conference selection in doubles, a third team All-Conference preseason selection in singles, and a first team All-Conference preseason selection in doubles. He was named to the 2021 - 22 South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. Sam was a member of Coker's ITA All-Academic Team, an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and ITA Academic All District.
Sam holds Coker University’s Men’s Tennis All-Time records for most singles wins, most doubles wins, most combined wins, and best win percentage. While serving as captain, Sam finished his senior year with a 10-6-2 singles record primarily at the number 3 position. He also earned 13 wins at number 1 doubles. Samuel advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA Southeast Regional Championship with wins over high-level NCAA Division II opponents and completing one of the program’s best individual performances in program history. Sam graduated from Coker with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminology.
As the GA, Sam aims to help the Marymount University men’s and women’s tennis teams achieve a high-level of success. His vision for the Saints is to win the AEC Championships. He also plans to help lead the men’s team to the AMCC/AEC Crossover Championship and to qualify for the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time in Marymount history.
