Jacob Brown was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Communications in December of 2024, after joining the Marymount Athletics Communications staff as the new Director of Athletics Communications in April 2022.
In this role, he oversees the communications and game day operations for all of Marymount's 25 varsity sports, as well as being the main point of contact for all club sports and serving as Co-Chair of the Marymount Hall of Fame committee.
During the summer of 2022, he was a part of the team that launched the newly-designed MarymountSaints.com, completely renovating the look and flow of the website.
Prior to joining the Saints' staff, Brown spent two years as the Graduate Assistant for Eastern Mennonite University in the Athletics Communications Office from the fall of 2020 to the spring of 2022.
While at EMU, Brown spent his time covering all sports for the Royals, focusing on baseball, women's basketball, women's soccer, men's and women's track and field/cross country, and the golf program. He covered the 2021 EMU baseball program, who upset top-seeded Randolph-Macon in the first round of the ODAC Tournament.
Prior to his time at Eastern Mennonite, Brown spent three years in the in the corporate world for Enterprise Holdings, while working as a freelancer for local papers and other writing and design endeavors. He primarily wrote for high school sports in the Shenandoah Valley for the Daily News-Record and spent a summer interning for acclaimed freelancer David Driver, covering the Washington Nationals.
Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media and Communication Arts with a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, both from Eastern Mennonite.
He resides in Woodbridge, Va. with his wife Ellen.
