Marymount University Athletics announced the appointment of Dr. Skye Donovan as the new faculty athletics representative ahead of the 2025–26 school year.
Dr. Donovan has been part of the Marymount community since 2008, serving in various roles across campus. She was recently named dean of the College of Health and Education.
"We are excited to welcome Dr. Skye Donovan as Marymount's new faculty athletics representative," said Jill McCabe, vice president for athletics and student life. "As a former collegiate student-athlete, she knows firsthand the importance of the FAR role in supporting student success, integrity and teamwork. Skye's passion for student achievement and collaboration embodies what it means to be a Saint. I am looking forward to a fantastic year and a bright future for our Saints family."
Dr. Donovan succeeds Dr. Stephanie K. Foster, who served as Marymount's FAR for the past 10 years and helped foster a culture of academic excellence that led to numerous awards for Marymount student-athletes.
In her new role, Donovan will act as a liaison between academics and the athletics department, working to ensure a high-quality experience for all student-athletes.
As dean, she oversees academic programs in nursing, physical therapy, public health, exercise science, education and counseling. She is a tenured professor in Marymount's Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Nationally, Donovan is a recognized leader in the American Physical Therapy Association. She has served on its board of directors since 2020 and was elected vice president in 2025.
"As a former collegiate athlete, it is an honor to take on this role as the FAR to further strengthen the relationship between academics and athletics," Donovan said. "I hope to support student-athlete well-being, academic success and career preparation. At Marymount, we want our student-athletes to excel not only in their sport but in their lives."
