Brittany Hammer enters her second year at Marymount Universityas the Interim Director of Athletics Communications, having servedas the department's graduate assistant over the 2013-14 academicyear.  In her current role, Hammer serves as the primarycontact for all 17 of Marymount's NCAA Division III intercollegiateathletic programs - managing online and printed publications,overseeing game day operations, and maintaining statistical andhistorical record keeping.  In addition, Hammer coordinatesmedia relations and marketing efforts for Marymount Athletics,including the Saints' various social media platforms as well as theofficial athletics website, www.MarymountSaints.com.

Hammer, a native of Lancaster, Pa., was a four-year letterwinner at Division I Seton Hall University, graduating in May 2013with a bachelor's degree in marketing and a minor in publicrelations/journalism. At Marymount, she is currently pursuing herMaster of Business Administration degree.

While at Seton Hall, Hammer enjoyed a prolific softball career,captaining the Pirates as a four-year mainstay at shortstop. In herfinal campaign, Hammer received Capital One/CoSIDA Second-TeamAcademic All-American accolades, becoming only the fourth athletein SHU Softball history to receive the honor. In addition, Hammeraccrued Third-Team All-BIG EAST recognition in her senior season,while also earning the BIG EAST Excellence Award and the NCAAPostgraduate Scholarship.

Hammer finished her playing career ranked in the top-10 inschool history in four offensive categories and ended her schoolcareer being named Seton Hall University's Most Valuable Pirate in2013. The award highlights a senior student-athlete who hasdisplayed leadership and dedication, and made exemplarycontributions not only in the field of competition, but also in theclassroom and in the Seton Hall community.
