Jonathan Morrow enters his fifth season as the men's and women's cross country and track & field head coach ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Morrow has led the Saints since his hiring ahead of the 2019-20 season, seeing prominent team and individual success from the student-athletes under his guide.
In the 2022-23 season, the Saints saw success in both the cross country and track & field realm. The women's track & field team earned the first Atlantic East Conference Championship in program history, posting 11 AEC All-Conference selections, as well as the Track Athlete of the Year (Deziree Conklin-Boone), Field Athlete of the Year (Jada Noel), and Rookie of the Year (Ariana Grant). The men grabbed seven All-Conference honorees.
In the cross country season, the women picked up Atlantic East Runner Up, with Avery Finnegan and Ziyan Qutub earning First Team All-Conference.
During the 2022 outdoor season, Morrow led MU to nine individual Atlantic East First Team All-Conference recipients, as well as five Second Team All-Conference awards.
After the 2022 season, Morrow saw two student-athletes receive USTFCCCA All South Region under his leadership: Deziree Conklin-Boone and Samantha Healy.
In 2021, Morrow led both the men's and women's track & field team to a second-place finish at its first-ever Atlantic East Championships in 2021. Morrow guided Keyshawn Kindall to a pair of First Team All-Conference honors and the Atlantic East Rookie of the Year award. Overall the Saints earned 13 All-Conference nods from the Atlantic East as a result of their performance.
Morrow came to Marymount after almost three years as the head coach for the men's and women's cross country and track & field programs at Chatham University. Starting with six student-athletes, Morrow built the Chatham program to over 50 student-athletes in two seasons. He recruited 11 athletes that became All-Presidents' Athletics Conference selections, with five in cross country, three in indoor track, and three in outdoor track.
He also coached one cross country individual conference champion, who was also named the PAC Most Valuable Runner, while going on to be an All-Region athlete and NCAA championships qualifier.
Over his time at Chatham, Morrow coached teams to their highest finishes in school history for cross country and track & field and saw 55 school records broken.
Before Chatham, Morrow spent a season as the assistant coach at Allegheny College for cross country and track & field, where he was heavily involved in recruiting and the day-to-day operations of the programs.
During the season, he helped coach both the men's and women's cross country teams to the North Coast Athletic Conference championships, with both teams advancing to the NCAA championships. Both teams also had the NCAC individual conference champions, with both being named to the all-conference teams.
Morrow also served as an Assistant Coach at Seton Hill University and Washington & Jefferson College for two years each, respectively. At Seton Hill, he was named the 2015 Atlantic Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year; Morrow was named the Assistant Coach of the Year at Washington & Jefferson for the 2012-13 season, as well.
At both schools, he was involved in recruiting for the programs. At Seton Hill, Morrow coached six All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selections and two NCAA Division II All-Americans, and at Washington & Jefferson, he saw six outdoor track & field PAC champions and eight total NCAA Division III qualifiers (four cross country and four track & field). He also coached three All-Americans at W&J with one in cross country and two in track & field.
Morrow also brings strength coaching experience from Seton Hill, working with multiple sports in two years there, and he served as the Head Boys Track & Field Coach for the Okeechobee County School District.
