ARLINGTON, Va. -  Marymount Athletics has announced the promotion of Tori Thompson from Assistant Athletic Trainer to Head Athletic Trainer ahead of the of the 2026-27 athletics season.

Before arriving at Marymount, Thompson completed clinical experiences with NC State football, NC State women's gymnastics, NC State women's volleyball, Shenandoah men's lacrosse, and Herndon High School, giving her experience across multiple levels of competition.

Thompson earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from Coastal Carolina University in 2021 before completing her Master of Science in Athletic Training at Shenandoah University in 2023. While at Shenandoah, she also earned a Performing Arts Master's Certificate.

As Assistant Athletic Trainer at Marymount, Thompson provided sports medicine support to all of Marymount's varsity athletics programs. "I'm excited to step into this role and continue to prioritize comprehensive student-athlete care while also supporting their success on and off the field," said Thompson. 

Thompson will now oversee all facets of the Athletic Training department and providing services to all 23 of Marymount's varsity athletics teams.
