SWIM: Saints Wrap Up Patriot Invitational With Record Breaking Performances

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Marymount swimming finished up their stint at the Patriot Invitational, hosted by George Mason University, putting up impressive outings againsts Division I opponents, breaking records and securing top-10 times along the way. 

NOTABLE RELAY RESULTS
  • In the final day on Saturday, the men's 400 freestyle relay team of Benjamin Clabeaux, Luke Claudy, Noah Popp, and Carsten Hicks came across in 10th with a time of 3:06.35, setting a new program and Atlantic East Conference record.
  • Vincent Tran, Evan Pak, Carsten Hicks, and Luke Claudy took on the 200 medley relay, clocking a time of 1:32.47, placing ninth out of 14 teams, primarily Division I opponents. The time is a new Marymount men's swimming program record and Atlantic East record, beating out the time from the 2025 Atlantic East Championships.
  • In the men's 200 yard freestyle relay, the team of Luke Claudy, Benjamin Clabeaux, Noah Popp, and Carsten Hicks finished with a time of 1:24.88 to notch a 10th place finish out of 14 teams. 
  • The men's 400 medley relay team of Noah Popp, Evan Pak, Carsten Hicks, and Luke Claudy finished 10th out of 14 teams with a time of 3:25.09, narrowly missing the program record. 
NOTABLE INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
  • Annabelle Tarrant put up an impressive outing in the women's 500 freestyle prelims, notching a time of 5:07.94, narrowly missing a finals appearance. The mark is a new women's swimming program record. The next day, the first-year placed 32nd out of 45 swimmers in the women's 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.10, putting her third all-time in program history in the event. In the 100 yard freestyle prelims, she clocked a time of 55.28.
  • First-year Noah Popp clocked a 1:44.23 finish in the men's 200 yard freestyle, which set a new school record. Later in the day on Friday, he made the cut in the 100 yard backstroke, finishing 22nd with a time of 52.28. In Saturday's action, he secured a spot in the finals in the 200 backstroke with a prelim time of 1:56.64, finishing atop his heat for 17th overall with a time of 1:53.16 in the finals, good for second all-time in program history.
  • Benjamin Clabeaux finished 20th out of 51 swimmers, primarily Division I, with a time of 21.20 in the men's 50 yard free prelims to earn a spot in the finals. He finished 19th overall with a time of 21.02 in the finals outing. On Friday, he had a 53.13 outing in the 100 yard backstroke, putting him fifth all-time in the record book. In the final day, he hit a time of 46.97 in the 100 yard free prelims.
  • Vincent Tran made the cut in the 100 yard backstroke, finishing 20th with a time of 52.10, good for third in program history. He finished at 24th in the finals with a time of 53.31. Tran went on to hit a time of 52.34 in the men's 100 yard butterfly prelims, adding a time of 2:05.95 in the 200 backstroke prelims.
  • Ryan Faherty clocked in at 4:16.19 in the 400 yard IM prelims, good for second all-time in program history, also adding a 1:58.72 finish in the 200 individual medley event. In Saturday's 200 breaststroke prelims, he notched a time of 2:14.50.
  • Evan Pak finished 20th to secure a spot in the 100 yard breaststroke finals, hitting a time of 58.10. He finished 22nd overall, improving his time in the final run at 57.92, mere milliseconds away from his program record time. In the 200 yard breaststroke prelims on Saturday, Pak made the cut with a time of 2:10.72, hitting 2:11.59 in the finals. He added a 2:00.90 finish in the 200 medley prelims.
  • Nathan Bruley earned a spot in the 200 yard backstroke finals with a prelim time of 1:56.82, notching a time of 1:57.16 in the final swim.
  • Alexander Hain hit a time of 1:48.14 in the 200 yard freestyle prelims, going on to hit a time of 1:58.28 in the 200 butterfly prelims. The senior added a 2:03.13 time in the 200 individual medley. 
  • Luke Claudy finished 26th in the 50 free at 21.35. On the final day, he earned a spot in 100 yard freestyle finals with a prelim time of 46.29, going on to improve his time to 46.19 in the finals.
  • Addison Muhlenkamp finished with a time of 2:19.95 in the women's 200 individual medley prelims, before hitting a time of 1:01.02 in the 100 yard backstroke prelims the next day. On Saturday, she had a 2:17.96 showing in the 200 backstroke prelims.
  • Ilana Hawkins hit a time of 25.63 in the 50 yard freestyle prelims, before notching a time of 1:09.69 in the 100 yard breaststroke the next day. In Saturday's time in the pool, the senior hit a time of 54.99 in the 100 freestyle prelims.
  • Miah Lopez secured a time of 1:00.53 in the 100 yard butterfly prelims. On Saturday, she secured a time of 2:13.28 in the 200 butterfly prelims, moving up a spot in the record book.
  • Carsten Hicks finished 34th our of 54 swimmers in the 100 yard butterfly prelims, finishing with a time of 50.90. In Saturday's 100 yard free prelims, he finished with a time of 48.04.
  • Garrett Watson marked a time of 1:48.79 in the 200 yard free prelims, adding a 1:59.61 outing in the 200 butterfly prelims. 
  • Daniel Caldwell hit a time of 52.55 in the 100 butterfly prelims, adding a 2:00.26 mark in the 200 butterfly prelims.
  • Lillian Crawley put up a time of 1:58.98 in the 200 yard freestyle prelims. In the 100 yard prelims on Saturday, she hit a mark of 55.22.
  • Alexandra Pette finished with a time of 1:02.78 in the women's 100 yard backstroke prelims. On the final day, she clocked a 2:14.25 in the 200 yard backstroke prelims.

  • The Saints will take some time off from competition, hitting the pool again in January hosting Randolph-Macon on the 10th in the Lee Center Pool.
