ARLINGTON – Four members of the Marymount men's and women's tennis programs were honored as All-State selections by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) this week.
 
On the men's side, Nicolas Stromberg and Eshan Degamwar were both First Team All-State selections for the first time in their careers. On the women's side, Fabienne Fritz and Sofia Lucero earned First Team All-State laurels for the first time in their careers.
 
Stromberg was previously named Atlantic East Player of the Year for the first time after finishing 12-6 in singles and 13-5 in doubles action this season. He was also named First Team All-Conference in both singles and doubles for the third time in his career.
 
After finishing his first season at Marymount with a 13-4 mark in singles play and 12-5 record in doubles action, Degamwar was named the AEC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference in singles and doubles.
 
Fritz was named AEC Player of the Year after an undefeated conference record at No. 1 singles. She also played No. 1 doubles throughout the season, staying unblemished in conference play. Fritz picked up an 8-6 overall record, all played at No. 1 singles.
 
Lucero earned AEC Rookie of the Year honors after going 3-0 in conference play at No. 2 singles for the Saints. Lucero teamed up with Fritz for No. 1 doubles to stay undefeated in conference play. For the season Lucero finished with an 8-4 record at No. 2 singles and a 2-0 mark at No. 3 singles. Lucero and Fritz both earned First Team All-Conference in both singles and doubles.
 
Since its first full seasons of competition in 2021-22, Marymount tennis has now produced nine All-State selections.
