Swimming Shows Strong at Patriot Invitational

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Marymount's swimming squad competed at the George Mason Invitational over the weekend, posting strong times in a pool filled with NCAA Division I swimmers.

NOTABLE RELAY TIMES NOTABLE INDIVIDUAL TIMES
  • Luke Claudy finished the men's 50 yard freestyle finals with a time of 20.98, which stays in third all-time in program history. He improved on his preliminary time of 21.28. Claudy also went on to put himself in another spot in the record book, notching a time of 53.13 im the 100 yard backstroke prelims, he finds himself fourth all-time in program history.
  • Miah Lopez swam a time of 59.85 in the 100 yard butterfly, good for fourth all-time in Marymount program history. 
  • Nathan Bruley put himself in the record book with his performance in the 500 yard freestyle preliminaries, notching a time of 4:56.67, good for 10th all-time. He moved on to clock in at 1:58.89 in the 200 yard backstroke finals, good for fifth all-time.
  • Ryan Faherty posted a 59.25 in the men's 100 yard breaststroke final, moving him up to second all-time in Marymount history. Pak moved all the way up to third all-time with him marking of 59.31 in the prelims.
  • Ilana Hawkins took the top spot among Marymount competitors in the women's 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.39.
  • Hicks posted a 51.57 in the men's 100 yard butterfly event. Daniel Caldwell moved up to sixth all-time in the event with his time of 52.61.

  • The Saints won't hit the pool until the turn of the year, next heading to Randolph-Macon on Thursday, Jan. 9 for a 5:30 PM start.
