ARLINGTON and VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – In a home dual in front a raucous Rec Gym crowd, Marymount men's wrestling topped Gettysburg in dramatic fashion with a last-second victory in the final match of the day to win the dual, 22-21.
 
The rest of the squad competed in the Sword and Hammer Invitational in Virginia Beach, finishing with seven placewinners including 125-pound champion, Joseph Custodio.
 
NOTABLE

• With the match starting at 184, Rylan Moose responded after surrendering an early takedown to win by technical fall late in the third period, 22-7.
• Brey Loving, Ronald Vernem, and Dylan Coward then picked up three straight workmanlike decisions at 285, 125, and 133.
• Loving used a late takedown and near fall to win, 8-2.
• Tallion Elliott Jr. put on a clinic from neutral to win going away, 18-7 at 157.
• Marymount entered the final match of the day trailing by three points, needing a bonus point victory to win without criteria.
• In a wild back-and-forth match, Mohammed Fofana picked up an escape, takedown, and nearfall (eight points) in the final 15 seconds to win by major decision, 21-13.
