ARLINGTON, Va. – It all came down to #1 singles, as a tennis championship should. Senior Caroline Haymans delivered the clincher with a 6-4, 6-3 decision to bring home Marymount's first-ever women's tennis conference title in just the second year of the program's existence. 

NOTABLE

• Marymount picked up two wins in doubles action to hold a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.
• Ariane Kombou picked up a convincing win at #4 singles to get MU on the board.
• Angelica Dalton, who teamed up with Kombou for an 8-1 win at #3 doubles, closed out another gritty win at #5 singles to get MU another point.
• After teaming up with Melody Salguero for a win at #2 doubles, Haymans dug deep on a hot day to pull out a 6-4, 6-3 win at #1 singles and the celebration was on.
• For her performance, Haymans was named the Atlantic East Tournament MVP.
• Pamela Kontaras of Immaculata earned the Atlantic East Elite 20 Award.
• Avery DeFazio has now won two conference titles in the span of 55 days after serving as a role player for Marymount women's basketball this winter. The Saints won the AEC women's basketball championship on February 25, 2023.
