ARLINGTON, Va. – In just its second full season of existence, both the Marymount men's and women's tennis teams clinched the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic East Tournament with victories over Neumann on Saturday afternoon.
NOTABLE
- Due to weather, the men's match concluded after the team score was decided through three singles and three doubles matches.
- Nicolas Stromberg didn't allow a point, winning 8-0 at #3 doubles and 10-0 at # 3 singles.
- Dorian Guiot also won handily at #2 doubles and #2 singles.
- Seb Dijkema and Dean Cole pulled out an 8-6 win at #1 doubles.
- On the women's side, Avery DeFazio was part of two crucial wins at #1 doubles and #3 singles.
- Melody Salguero and Ariane Kombou also prevailed at #5 and #6 singles, with Kombou teaming up with Angelica Dalton for a dominant 8-0 win at #3 doubles.
- Both the men's and women's tennis teams finish conference play at 4-0.
