IMMACULATA, Pa. - For the second straight day, the Marymount University men's tennis team swept a conference foe, defeating Immaculata 9-0 on Sunday.
The Saints even pitched shutouts in four of those matches, winning at #1 doubles, #2 doubles, #2 singles and #3 singles without dropping a single game.
Michael Miller/Dorian Guiot (#1) and Nicolas Stromberg/Nikhil Misra (#2) each recorded 8-0 wins in their pairs matches.
Lwazi-Enno Rennert and Jordan Jake defeated Alex Polidoro and Sean Chalmers 8-3 in the #3 spot to give Marymount a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
After a competitive first set, Miller took a 6-4, 6-0 decision over Jason Watts in the top singles place.
Guiot (#2) and Stromberg (#3) each added individual shutouts in their spots.
Rennert won 6-1, 6-1 at #4 singles, Misra won 6-2, 6-1 in the fifth spot, and Jake took a 6-1, 6-0 decision at #6 singles.
Marymount is 3-6, 2-0 Atlantic East after also winning 9-0 yesterday at Gwynedd-Mercy. MU will play at Neumann tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
