BALTIMORE, Md. - The Marymount swimming program continued their strong season with two decisive wins against the Gophers of Goucher College on Saturday.Â
With the wins, the men's team moves to 4-1 on the season, with the women 5-1 heading into Thanksgiving.
Team Results
- The men took the win with a final score of 176 - 55.
- The women overpowered the Gophers with a final winning tally of 188 - 36.Â
Relay ResultsÂ
- The Saints women kicked off the dual meet by taking the top two spots in the 200 yard medley relay, consisting of Arianna Koerner, Tidawee Srun, Delaney Carey, and Maddy Schirching in first with a time of 1:57.59. The second-place women's team of Ella DeNicola, Maddi Vlattas, Brooke Dittlinger, and Rebecca Lazerson finished with a time of 1:59.46.Â
- The men were much the same in the 200 yard medley relay, with the first-place team of Alexander Hain, Ryan Faherty, Justin Singletary, and Jacob Collins finishing with a time of 1:46.15. The second-place finishing team of Ethan White, Garrett Peck, Carsten Hicks, and Thomas Wilcoski notched a time of 1:47.37.
- The Marymount women took the first two spots in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of Carey, Lazerson, Ilana Hawkins, and Isabella Ochalik finished first with a time of 1:49.48. The Saints team of Dittlinger, Koerner, Schirching, and Denicola finished second with a time of 1:51.59.Â
- The men also took the top two finishes in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of Singletary, Laine Eary, Trevor Cairns, and Wilcoski notched first with a time of 1:36.73, with the team of Faherty, Hicks, Dez Vereen, Collins finishing second with a 1:38.26 finish.Â
Individual Results
- In the women 200 yard freestyle, Vlattas took the top spot with a finishing time of 2:11.32, with Hawkins finishing right behind with a time of 2:14.59. Lillian Trussell rounded out the Saints finish in the event with a time of 2:17.53.
- Marymount finished in the top three spots in the men's 200 yard freestyle. Cairns finished first with a time of 1:53.43, Vereen in second with 2:09.98, and Wilcoski in third with 2:22.51.
- Koerner finished first in the women's 50 yard backstroke with a finishing time of 30.20. Denicola notched a strong third-place finish with a time of 31.34.
- White and Peck finished back-to-back in the top two spots in the men's 50 yard backstroke, with White notching a time of 26.73 and Peck with a time of 27.54, respectively.Â
- In the 50 yard breaststroke on the women's side, Srun notched first with a time of 31.88 and Lazerson finished third, coming through at 33.39.Â
- For the men in the 50 yard breaststroke, Cairns finished first yet again with a time of 30.99. Laine Eary finished in second with a time of 33.32.
- In the women's 200 yard butterfly event, Ochalik grabbed the top spot with a time of 2:32.31.
- Singletary and Hain finished top-two in the men's 200 yard butterfly, with Singletary finishing with a time of 2:03.67 and Hain finishing with 2:03.95.
- In the women's 50 yard freestyle, Dittlinger finished first with a time of 26.57 and Hawkins notched third with a time of 28.11.
- Eary and Vereen were able to finish first and second in the men's 50 yard freestyle. Eary finished first with a time of 23.89 and Vereen grabbed second with a time of 24.40.Â
- Carey and Dittlinger finished in first and second in the women's 100 yard freestyle event. Carey finished in the top spot with a time of 58.85 and Dittlinger in second with a finish of 59.67.
- Hicks and Eary finished in a tight race for first in the men's 100 yard freestyle. Hicks narrowly edged out the first-place finish with a time of 51.24, with Eary placing second with a time of 51.83.
- In the women's 200 yard backstroke event, Koerner finished first with a time of 2:24.88.
- White had another first-place finish in the men's 200 yard backstroke. He finished with a time of 2:02.40.Â
- Srun and Vlattas continued the Saints' winning ways on the day by taking first and second in the women's 200 yard breaststroke event. Srun grabbed the win with a time of 2:31.81, with Vlattas finishing in the second spot with a time of 2:38.31.
- In the men's 200 yard breaststroke, Faherty took a strong first-place finish with a time of 2:22.14.
- Ochalik nabbed another first-place finish in distance fashion, taking the women's 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:55.65.
- Cairns grabbed his third, first-place win on the day in the men's 500 yard freestyle. He finished with a time of 5:17.20.Â
- Carey finished first again in the women's 50 yard butterfly with a time of 28.73.Â
- Hicks and Singletary were in another race for the top spot in the men's 50 yard butterfly, with Hicks edging out the win with a time of 24.26. Singletary finished right behind with a time of 24.44.
- Srun grabbed another top spot in the women's 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:22.20.
- Faherty finished out the Saints' individual top finishes in the men's 200 yeard individual medley, notching a time of 2:07.62.

- The Saints will take some time off through the holidays, heading to Randolph-Macon next on January 7 with the start time scheduled for 1:00 PM.
