ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University men's swimming team earned its first victory of the season on Saturday, defeating Atlantic East Conference-foe Immaculata University, 151-25.
The Saints began the day with first in the 200-yard medley relay, as juniors James Powers, Matthew Landivar, and Scott Bockisch and sophomore Brandon Hallahan teamed for a time of 1:53.73.
Overall, Marymount tallied 11 first-place finishes on the day, with senior Isaiah Jones, junior Tedd Pham, and sophomore Max Klemm each garnering two.
Jones grabbed gold in the 50-yard freestyle (22.17 seconds) and the 100-yard freestyle (48.79 seconds).
Klemm added firsts in the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:01.10, before taking the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.05.
Pham took first in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke with times of 56.42 seconds and 58.55 seconds, respectively.
Jones, Pham, and Klemm then teamed with sophomore Noel Lopez to take gold in the 200-yard freestyle relay, taking a time of 1:32.82.
Lopez also added a first-place finish individually, finishing the 500-yard freestyle in 6:01.71.
Junior Nicholas DiSanti and senior Ian Griffith added the final two golds for the Saints. DiSanti won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:07.01, and Griffith won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:09.34.
The Saints will travel to Gallaudet University for its next meet on Friday, November 16; the meet is set for 6 p.m.
