WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Marymount University men's swimming team earned its second-straight victory on Friday night, cruising past Gallaudet University, 109-74, on the road.
Leading the way for the Saints with two first-place wins was sophomore Max Klemm, grabbing top finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.71) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.38).
A pair of other Saints collected top finishes including senior Ian Griffith and junior Nicholas DiSanti. Griffith touched the wall in 56.82 in the 100-yard butterfly for a first-place finish, while DiSanti took first in the 500-yard free in a time of 5:46.93, just beating out a Bison swimmer by less than a second.
In the opening relay, the 200-yard medley, the Saints defeated the Bison by 17 seconds, powered by the efforts of juniors Matthew Landivar and James Powers and sophomores Brandon Hallahan and Ryan Straka. To close out the meet, Marymount grabbed the top finish in the 200-yard free relay by almost 53 seconds, clocking a time of 1:42.59 led by Klemm, DiSanti, senior Isaiah Jones, and junior Tedd Pham.
The Saints dive right back in on Saturday, November 17, as they host Randolph-Macon College in the Rose Bente Lee Center. Start time is set for 2 p.m.
