ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount men's swimming team notched its second dual-meet victory on Friday night, topping Gallaudet University, 96-77, to move to 2-0 for the season.
Paced by six top finishes through 10 events, the Saints saw sophomores Zachary Payne and Tedd Pham join the top 10 in program history.
Payne, who already sits in the top 10 in five different events through his first season, added his sixth event on Friday night when he touched the wall in 21.77 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle. He ties for fifth in the event with former teammate James Gibbons and current teammate Isaiah Jones, who hit the same mark in the first meet of this season.
Pham makes his first appearance in the program record book, cracking the top 10 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Beating out the Bison competition by nearly four seconds, he clocked a time of 1:02.26 in the event to place him ninth in program history.
Jones and freshman Max Klemm also notched top finishes in the meet, as Jones took first in the 100-yard freestyle (48.81) and Klemm in the 200-yard IM (2:06.18).
The Saints dive right back into action tomorrow, Saturday, November 18, as they travel down 95 to Ashland, Virginia for a dual meet with Randolph-Macon College. First race is set for 1 p.m.
