Fredericksburg, Va. – The Marymount swimming squads faced a tough opponent in Mary Washington on Saturday, as both teams fell to the CAC powerhouse in the dual meet. Between the three teams – Frostburg State was also featured in the league showdown – Marymount placed second on both sides. The women collected 48 points, behind the Eagles' 133 points, but above the Bobcats' 46. The men finished similarly, reeling in 59 points – falling to Mary Washington with 128, but besting Frostburg State with just 38 points.
The men opened the meet with a bang, hauling in a win in the 200 medley relay – the team of Ross Wiley, William Bryan, Robert Klazynski, and Tyler Hayes touched just a second (1:40.32) before the Eagles' foursome.
Thomas Brierley continued his hot streak with an individual win in the 100 backstroke (54.02). Wiley was the only other Saint to collect a solo victory, touching first in the 400 individual medley (4:39.41).
Both the men and the women took home wins in the 200 freestyle relay events to close out the meet.
The squads now set their sights on the upcoming CAC Championship event beginning on February 20.
