Arlington, Va. – The Marymount University men's and women's swimming teams split in their first home meet of the season – the women tackling Randolph-Macon 115.5-89.5 and the men dropping a 121-81 decision.
The Marymount 200-yard medley relay foursomes once again proved impossible to sink, as the Saints snatched the day's first two events easily.
On the women's side, Casey Thomas brought home the first individual win for the Saints, reaching the wall in 2:03.55 for the 200-yard freestyle. Morgan Alston followed several events later as she bested the 200-yard IM field with her time of 2:22.46. Marymount veteran Bridget Wunderly also notched an individual win, posting a 1:02.65 finish in the 100-yard butterfly. Thomas reeled in her second victory of the day in the 100-yard freestyle, as Kristen Kilroy registered a 1:15.10 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke for another Saints' win.
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team – comprised of Thomas, Hannah Del Signore, Taylor Hood, and Isabella Blecha – rounded out the Saints' scoring efforts with a winning time of 1:46.55.
The men's performance was highlighted by a pair of Tyler Hayes victories in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races.
The women improve to 3-1 on the season, while the men fall to 1-3.
Marymount returns to the pool on Friday, December 5, as it travels to the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Ashland, Va.
