Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's
swimming teams split a pair of dual meets against Division I foe
Howard on Saturday afternoon. The Saints women's squad topped
the Bison 123-78 while the men fell 123-70.
On the women's side, Marymount has now won five of its
last six meets this season. The Saints also won seven of the 11
events on the day.
Opening the day with a win, the Saints team of Taylor Hood,
Emily Wagner, Bridget Wunderly and Katie Moran won the 200 medley
relay. The Saints also won the first three individual events as
Katie Scott won the 1000 freestyle, Casey Thomas topped the 200
freestyle and Moran claimed victory in the 50 freestyle.
Moran also won the 100 freestyle, Kim Rizzo topped the 500
freestyle and Wagner won the 100 breaststroke.
On the men's side, Will Baroz won the 200 freestyle for
the Saints while Dennis D'Abbraccio, Matt Ward and Joseph
Gardner also posted several second place finishes.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday as it closes out the
regular season with a Capital Athletic Conference double-dual meet
at Frostburg with Mary Washington.
