Lexington, Va. – Marymount University's men's swimming team dropped a pair of non-conference showdowns at a tri-meet against Washington & Lee and Catholic on Saturday. The Saints fell to the host Generals 152-72 and lost to the rival Cardinals 169-77.

Senior Brian Tinsman and sophomore Greg Shumaker each tallied three top-three finishes while freshman Michael Yelmgren added a pair.

Shumaker placed third in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.91 and was second in the 200 Breaststroke at 2:25.50. He also teamed with Tinsman, Yelmgren and junior Ryan Kilmon to finish second in the 200 Freestyle Relay at 1:35.34.

Tinsman excelled in the freestyle events, placing third in the 50 free with a time of 23.83 and second in the 100 free at 51.87. Yelmgren also finished third in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 56.20.

Marymount returns to action on Saturday at Gallaudet.
