Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's
men's swimming team defeated visiting Capital Athletic
Conference foe Hood 121-73 on Saturday. The Saints won eight events
en route to their first team victory of the season.
Opening with a win in the 200 Medley Relay, the team of Ryan
Kilmon, Greg Shumaker, Michael Yelmgren and Brian Tinsman won with
a time of 1:44.97 to top the Blazers by four seconds.
The Saints (1-3, 1-2 CAC) would continue to post top finishes
as Everett Neiman won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:30.09,
Danny Carson won the 200 freestyle at 1:54.77 and Tinsman finished
second at 1:55.97.
Hood rallied to win the 50 freestyle and the 200 IM before
Yelmgren and Thomas Baroz went one-two in the 100 butterfly at
55.04 and 58.99, respectively. Kilmon added a win in the 100
freestyle at 53.33 before Tinsman and Neiman placed top-two in the
500 freestyle with times of 5:20.39 and 5:37.09.
The Saints closed out the meet with a pair of wins as
Shumaker won the 100 breaststroke at 1:07.81 and the team of
Neiman, Baroz, William Sakell and Christian Jacky topped the 200
freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.36.
Marymount returns to action at the Franklin & Marshall
Invitational in December.
