Three Saints notch first-place finishes at Cabrini in first Atlantic East meet

RADNOR, Pa. – The Marymount University women's swimming team traveled to Cabrini University on Saturday for its first Atlantic East Conference meet of the year, falling 119-85.

Senior Hayley Elizondo added two more gold medals to her season, taking first in the 400-yard individual medley and the 200-yard breaststroke. In the 400 IM, she raced to a time of 4:50.56, before finishing the 200 breast in 2:28.75, as she now has placed first in all eight of her individual events, this season.

The Saints also got first-place spots from senior Jessie Bricker and freshman Delaney Carey. Bricker won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:37.84, while Carey took the 100-yard freestyle in 58.51 seconds.

Elizondo, Bricker, and Carey teamed with senior Isabel Grimm to take first in the 200-yard medley relay, as well, finishing in 1:59.74.

Marymount grabbed the top-two spots in the 200 butterfly, as junior Claudia Beuchert placed second with a time of 2:39.20.

Grimm added two more second-place finishes, taking silver in the 200-yard freestyle (2:13.79) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:27.43).

Bricker and Carey, also, grabbed silver medals. Bricker placed second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:59.07, while Carey took second in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.99 seconds.

Marymount jumps back into the pool on Saturday, November 16 at Marywood University in Atlantic East competition; the meet is set for 1 p.m.
