ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University women's soccer team fell to Cabrini University, 3-0, on a rainy Wednesday evening at Long Bridge Park in its final regular-season contest of the year.
The Cavaliers opened the game with their first goal at the 3:07 mark for the quick lead.
Cabrini found the back of the net for the second time in the 17th minute to double its lead, before converting on a penalty kick just four minutes later for the 3-0 edge.
Reyes, Bonilla, and senior Gabby Cabrales peppered Tutzauer with three-straight shots in an attempt to break through, but the Cabrini keeper was up for the challenge.
Cabrini took its three-goal lead into the half, while holding an 8-5 edge in shots.
Senior Courtney Stephens took her shot at goal in the 56th minute in the second half, but was not able to convert.
The Cavaliers were able to keep the Saints at bay for the remainder of the game to secure the victory.
Sophomore Maia Pappadakis played all 90 minutes in goal for Marymount, making six saves.
The Saints will see the Cavaliers again on Saturday, November 2 in the first round of the Atlantic East Conference tournament, as sixth-seeded Marymount will travel to third-seeded Cabrini; the game time is to be determined.
