Women's golf picked No. 2 in Centennial Conference Preseason Poll

LANCASTER, Pa. – The 2019 women's golf season is just days away, and the Marymount University women's golf team has been voted the No. 2 team in the Centennial Conference Women's Golf Preseason Poll, the league announced on Friday.

The Saints received 40 points and one first-place vote in the poll to earn the second spot, following a third-place finish in the Centennial Conference Championship last season.

This season, senior Alessandra Bertacche returns for the Saints; she was the individual champion at the conference championships last season, carding a 161 (+21) over the two days. She earned the conference's Player of the Year award for the effort.

The preseason poll was led by Gettysburg College, which garnered 49 points and seven first-place votes. The top five was rounded out by No. 3 Dickinson College (37 points), No. 4 Ursinus College (31 points), and No. 5 Muhlenberg College (27 points).

Marymount opens the season on Monday, March 11 in the Adidas/TaylorMade Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at Dataw Island in Beaufort, S.C.
