ARLINGTON, Va. – Sophomore Katie McShea, of the No. 14 Marymount University women's basketball team, was honored with her third-career Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
McShea helped the Saints to a 2-0 week, last week, to keep the team's record unblemished at 5-0 to open the season. Marymount took down Salisbury University, 61-48, on Wednesday, before defeating No. 8 Messiah College, 54-51, on Saturday.
Against the Sea Gulls, McShea put up 24 points, marking her season high to this point, while adding 10 rebounds. She added an assist and a steal in the game, as well.
She followed that with another double-double, her third straight, with 13 points and 12 rebounds against the eighth-ranked Falcons.
So far this season, she leads the team with 14.6 points-per game and 10.0 rebounds-per game.
McShea was, twice, named the Atlantic East Player of the Week, last season, on February 4 and February 18, 2019.
The Saints will take the court, next, on Tuesday, November 26 against Stevenson University at the Converse Family Fieldhouse; the game is set for 6 p.m.
