Saints set six personal records in Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Marymount University men's cross country team took part in the Paul Short Run on Saturday, finishing in 34th with 959 points.

The Saints were led by freshman Meshack Bett, in his first action of the season, running the 8k meet in 27:21.3 to place 109th.

The sophomore tandem of Matthew Thies and Brendan O'Brien finished less than a second apart. Thies took 242nd in 30:35.0, while O'Brien came in just behind in 244th in 30.35.3. Both runners set career-bests with their efforts.

Marymount's scoring was finished out by senior Kevin Umanzor in 269th (31:45.2) and junior Paolo Rivas in 282nd (32:24.9), also setting career-records in the race.

The Saints also got personal records from freshman Vincent Cassano (36:42.3) and senior Gustavo Barrera (37:25.0).

The Saints return to the course on Saturday, October 12 in the Christopher Newport Invitational at Christopher Newport University.
