Men's Cross Country Grabs Second At Shannon Henretty

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Marymount University men's cross country team collected a second-place finish on Saturday at the Shannon Henretty Invitational, scoring 50 points. 

The 8K race, hosted by Stevenson University, had sophomores Brendan O'Brien and Matthew Thies pacing the pack for ninth and 10th place. O'Brien crossed the line at 32:30.57, while Thies was just 11 seconds behind him with a time of 32:41.37.

Junior Paolo Rivas came through with a 15th-place finish on a time of 36:07.99, while freshmen Kevin Umanzor and Vincent Cassano rounded out the scoring for the Saints in 17th and 19th. Umanzor clocked a time of 37:33.47, and 40:33.40 for Cassano.

The Saints will take a few weeks off to prepare for the Hornet Harrier Invitational on Saturday, September 28, hosted by Shenandoah University.
