ANNVILLE, Pa. - Clark Akers scored two goals and Nathan Beard had one goal and one assist, but Lebanon Valley scored the game's final four goals while holding the Marymount men's lacrosse team scoreless over the final 22 minutes en route to a 9-5 victory Saturday at Arnold Field.
The Saints (2-5) outshot the Dutchmen 32-23 and won 11-of-18 faceoffs, but Cameron Epple made 16 saves, including six in the fourth quarter.
Lebanon Valley held a slim two goal lead at the half, 5-3, before Beard and Brent Sulhoff scored back-to-back to open the third quarter and tie the game at 5-5.
However, Dustin Fisher scored just 22 seconds later to put the Dutchmen (3-2) back in front by one, 6-5.
From there, the Lebanon Valley would hold the Saints scoreless over the final 22:07, despite 11 shots, seven of which were saved by Epple.
Meanwhile, the Dutchmen added to their lead on two goals from Matt Torrence and one goal and one assist from Kevin Beaver.
The Saints return home next Saturday, March 17 to host Susquehanna at Long Bridge Park beginning at 1 p.m.
