ARLINGTON, Va. - For the second-straight week, the Marymount women's basketball team is nationally ranked in both national polls after coming in at No. 23 in the D3hoops.com women's Top 25 and No. 24 in the WBCA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Saints (18-3, 13-1 CAC) remained at No. 24 in the WBCA poll, but dropped two spots in the D3hoops.com poll after losing on the road at No. 10/12 Christopher Newport. The Captains moved up one spot in both the WBCA and D3hoops.com polls to No. 9 and 10, respectively.
Marymount has won nine of its last 10 and is tied atop the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) standings with CNU. If both teams win out to finish the regular season, a tiebreaker will be needed to decide the regular season champion and the top-seed in the CAC Women's Basketball Championship.
Both teams have four games remaining with Marymount hosting Wesley and Frostburg State at home before concluding on the road at Penn State Harrisburg and Mary Washington. Christopher Newport has Southern Virginia and York (Pa.) at home and Penn State Harrisburg and Mary Washington on the road.
The Saints welcome Wesley to Verizon Sports Arena tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
