FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – For the second time this season, sophomore guard Regan Lohr of the Marymount women's basketball team has been named Capital Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Lohr had a stellar week on the court, helping the Saints to a 2-0 week in CAC play including knocking off No. 6 Christopher Newport University to remain the only undefeated team in the league at 6-0. For the week, she averaged 20.5 points per game, while adding 10 total rebounds, four assists and six steals through 70 minutes of play.
The Crofton, Maryland native dropped in a game-high 23 points to start the week against Frostburg State University, just two-points shy of a career high. For the game she shot 60 percent from the floor, while going 5-for-6 from beyond the arc in the first 12 minutes of the game. Her five three-pointers for the game along with her game-high five steals both marked career highs.
Against the nationally-ranked Captains, a squad that went to the Final Four last season, she posted a tied game-high 18 points with her teammate junior Tyffani McQueen. She totaled 16 of her 18 points in the second half, including 13-for-14 at the free-throw line.
This is her second CAC weekly award of the year, also grabbing the recognition back on December 4.
Lohr and the Saints hit the road before starting a four-game home stand, traveling to Wesley College on Wednesday, January 10 for another league matchup. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
