Freshmen Duo Lead Saints at Competitive Gettysburg Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Marymount men's cross country freshmen Chase Goodwin and Nicholas Stadtmueller each posted season-bests on Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational which included some of the best teams in the region as well as some from Division I and Division II.

Saturday's competition included Division I St. Bonaventure and Mount St. Mary's, West Chester and Alderson Broaddus from Division II as well as regionally-ranked competition from Division III in TCNJ (#7 Atlantic) and Roanoke (#8 South).

Goodwin was the first Saint to cross the finish line for the second time in five races this season as he completed the 8k course in a time of 33:40.7. Senior Graham Clark finished eight spots behind with a mark of 34:41.0.

Stadtmueller shaved almost two minutes off his previous best as he crossed the line with a time of 39:25.3.

Marymount will now have two weeks to prepare for the 2017 Capital Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 28 in Newport News, Virginia.
