Clark Cracks Top 30 in First Collegiate Triathlon For Marymount

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Senior Graham Clark raced his first triathlon as a Marymount University triathlete on Sunday, competing in the Patriots Sprint, a Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Conference event for USA Triathlon. 

A race that started out at Jamestown Event Beach Park in Williamsburg, Clark came through for a 29th-place finish in a field of 51 racers, crossing the line in 1:18:21. 

His 750-meter swim in the bay lasted just 16:52, averaging 2:14 per 100 meters. Transitioning to the bike leg in 2:29, he rode out the 20k middle section of the triathlon in 37:24, averaging about 20 mph. 

He hopped off the bike and entered the final leg, a flat 5k run, where he pushed through for to the finish line in 21:37, holding a pace of 6:56 per mile. 

Clark will rest up for his next race on Saturday, September 23, heading to Lake Anna, Virginia for the Giant Acorn International.
