HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Marymount men's golf team teed off their Fall season on Monday at the Tom Kinder Memorial at the Lakeview Golf Course. A usual two-day event was adjusted to 36 holes on Monday due to Hurricane Irma making its way up the coast.
Through the 36-hole tournament, the Saints carded a 657 (+81) as a team for a 14th-place finish.
Marymount was led by senior Kyle Weitendorf with a total day of +10 for 37th place, opening the first round with a 75 (+3) and finishing out with a 79 (+7).
Sophomore John David Coffin came in at 73rd, cutting a few strokes of his first-round score of 87 with a 77 (+5) to end the day.
Freshman Ivan Pech carded rounds of 83 and 87 to start up his collegiate career to take 78th, while senior Erik Timlin hit a total day of 171 (+27) for 83rd.
Junior Daniel Stone rounded out the team score for the day with a 184 (+40) to take 87th.
The men will head on the road this weekend to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for the two-day PSU-Harrisburg Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Harrisburg. The event will begin on Saturday, September 16.
